In this year’s Soil Not Oil conference held on the 6-7th of August, a global audience met virtually once again to share and learn about the need for regenerative agricultural practices for healthy food. The conference's theme could not have been more timely, “Our Food, Our Medicine.”
Remembering Larry Korn
Larry had just returned from teaching Natural Farming in Columbia when he passed on November 19, 2019. Despite all the many gifts and smiles Larry gave to the world, he left us way too soon! Larry, you will be missed, but your students and friends shall carry on your legacy.
We Can All Live Lives That Have A Safety Net
“How we stand with the weak is more important than how we sit with the strong.” This quote was part of the grand prize-winning application for Abundant Earth’s inaugural Youth in Permaculture Prize, submitted by Millicent Anyango. This saying kept repeating in my mind recently, as I watched the play “A Woman’s Place is in Her Home” at the Arcata Playhouse, nestled in the heart of the redwoods of Northern California.
Increased Resilience Against Fire
“If only you could see the picture of abundance, the potential of paradise that I see.” These are the words spoken by the renowned permaculturist and regenerative land designer, Sepp Holzer, when he first visited the community of Tamera in southern Portugal in 2007.
