Cultural exchange of permaculture knowledge
AEF helped support the California-based Butterfly Project’s Brandie Mack to travel to Zambia to assist efforts to teach permaculture and holistic health to women and girls. She co-facilitated workshops, helped install an herb spiral at the IWAWA orphanage, and further developed a food forest for the village. Brandi also facilitated training on social enterprise and urban agriculture with the IWAWA staff, and discussed the benefits of applying permaculture principles with the Minister of Sustainability. She plans to return to Zambia to continue working with the women and children to further develop their permaculture knowledge and experience.
